description

This original carafe contains a venerable blend that only the Nikka group know how to make. Coming from the blending of single malts of more than 17 years of age, made in the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, this Whisky Nikka Tsuru Ceramic 17 years old is characterized by a golden, amber color. Its perfume reminds first of mimosa and honeysuckle, and then of orange and cooked apple. Once in your mouth, this beverage is tonic and lively. Its finale touch has hints of chocolate.

Producer

Born in 1894 in a family of Sake producers, Masataka Taketsuru is considered the father of Japanese whisky. After training as a chemist, he was hired by the company Settsu Shuzo, who sent him to Scotland in 1919 to make his learning. He then became passionate for whiskey and decided to devote his life to it.

In 1934, he built Yoichi his first distillery on the island of Hokkaido. Its growing success, enabled him to open a second one in 1969 near Sendai Miyagikyo. It is based on single malts of these two distilleries that Nikka Whisky group declines its full range of Japanese whiskys.
